In the mornings (before the outside temperature gets too warm), I open up the doors to get fresh air circulating through the house.

As we get closer to summer, that routine will be stopped because the heat will always be too high.  There just won’t be a cool time at any point in the day.

But while the front door was recently open…..and we were taking advantage of the morning coolness…….

…..I was able to hear a rooster smack-down starting to take place in our front yard…

Alex (English Fighting Cock) and Rooster Rex (the Award-Winning, Blue-Laced/Red Wyandotte Rooster) were squaring off and starting an impromptu cock-fight on their own…

I swear…..I had nothing to do with it…

I wasn’t making book on the cock fight…….

…..there was no audience (other than some hens and the Runner Ducks)…….

…..and no bets were being taken or held…….

Cock Fighting remains illegal in the state of Florida.

But…..Alex is a scrappy little bird…

And…..Rex is a big boy, with a lot of weight behind him…

Alex started it…….

…..Alex perpetuated it…….

…..Alex eventually had his ego flattened…….and he was trounced thoroughly…….

Rex just out weighs him…..by a lot…

Dumb Alex…

He really needs to have an honest look in the mirror…….

…..and he needs too honestly put a ruler on his spurs and compare them to Rex’s…….

…..Alex is suffering from spur-size-envy…….

…..I’m sure he wouldn’t choose those words…….

…..but it’s the truth…

…..like I’ve said before…….

Alex is just a mouthy larynx and a lot of feathers…
