Patience…And The CSBT

Patience…And The CSBT

He came back…..

Mister Doctor Brigid and Patience (his tractor) came back again…and we didn’t even ask them to…..

…..and the phenomenal CSBT (Claw-Scoop-Bucket Thingie) also came along for the ride…..

We’ve decided that Mister Doctor Brigid needs an alias…and we decided to call him “Padraig”…..

Don’t you think it’s got a nice ring to it?…..

Well…I was happy with ALL the work that Padraig & Patience had already accomplished last week…..

Peavey
Tools of the Trade

…..but apparently my expectations were aimed a little too low for Mister Doctor Brigid…..

I was told that Padraig was coming back…to “finish the job”…..

…..(at this point…I do have to say that on a farm…the list of  “jobs” are Never Done…at least that’s been my experience)…..

The trifecta of Padraig…Patience…and the CSBT immediately got to work…and predictably kept on working All Day Long…..

…my contribution…

Now being a seasoned spectator of Padraig’s work ethic…..

I dutifully weeded a small token amount of dog fennel…and then I QUICKLY slunk (is that even a word?) back into the air conditioned house…..

…..and there I stayed…and I watched Padraig & Patience through the windows…going back and forth…and back and forth…..

…..and back and forth…..

I even had the audacity of being exhausted when Padraig finally finished with the last load…just before sunset…..

I was so very tired…..

The ducks and chickens loved the exposed ground under the last wood pile…..

…..because it was teeming with palmetto bugs and cockroaches…..

Mister Doctor Brigid told me that he even saved a little yellow Pine snake and a little Ring-Necked snake…(because they were small enough that the chickens would have devoured them)…..

*****(Guide To Florida’s Snakes)*****

He re-homed both snakes to the safety of the pasture…..

Fortunately NO pygmy rattlesnakes…or coral snakes…or moccasins were uncovered…(I was kind of surprised)…..

But that was a really really good thing…..

And now…our front yard seems SO Much Larger!…..

…from this…
…to this…

We tried estimating how many loads of wood were taken back into the swamp…..

Padraig estimated he probably did five trips an hour…for a total of about sixteen hours…..

So that was about Eighty…80…LXXX…loads!!!…..

I had (unrealistically) thought that I might have been able to burn it all with various bonfires…..

But…how many bonfires would that have taken?…

Plus we’ve been in the middle of a drought for the last six months with a “No Burn Ban”…..

And now…It’s Done…It’s really Done…all the hurricane wood has been removed…..

All Thanks to Padraig…Patience…and his CSBT…..

And then………….he climbed back onto his tractor…..

…..and he motored home…..

~~~~~Thank You So Very Much~~~~~
