Opening Hunt Meet
Yesterday was our fox hunt club’s Opening Hunt Meet.

It was the official opening of the Fox Hunting Season following the Cubbing Season.
It was held at one of our favorite venues.

An absolutely beautiful ranch with pastures and woods and streams and bridges and ponds.

My younger daughter and I couldn’t go this year…….
…..again…

She’s not ready yet to ride her new horse, Anja…….

…….which reminds me, I haven’t written about Anja yet——-(her purchase, or her shipment (from Minnesota), or her arrival)——-and I need to…….

…..also my horse (Addy) is still being medicated for her “mystery” condition/disease//illness…….

But Paolo got to go and work “the gate”…..

…..he had his clipboard, his spreadsheet, his string tie, and his black cowboy hat…….

Even if my daughter and I were both able to ride, we wouldn’t have been able to go…
I needed to stay home and care for the younger puppies from the two litters…

Those little guys are still at a semi-fragile stage where fresh disasters could still happen at any moment…….

After Paolo’s gate responsibilities were done for the Club, he got to partake in a Cajan brunch accompanied by an ample/open bar, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, immersed in the Florida countryside…….
…….jealous much?…….
…….You Betch’cha!…….
So I begrudgingly continued with my well-rehearsed, daily routine of feeding puppies, cleaning cages, medicating Addy…….along with my other/regular/well-worn daily rituals…….
…..Paolo did come home with some incredible creole jambalaya for us…….(the best I’ve ever tasted)
…..(the entire brunch had been generously provided by one of our Joint Masters)…..

…..along with some well-narrated stories and anecdotes about a wonderful day…….
…..that we didn’t get to see…….
…..maybe next year…….

I must ask, is Anja “pining for the fjords of Norway”?
She’s a horse, not a Norwegian Blue Parrot!
We missed you both! We have the hunting print, called Three Offers. It is in our dining room. We have marvelous taste!
I didn’t realize that the print image I chose was called the “Three Offers”. That is so cool. Thanks for that!
