I just looked down at the tee shirt I’m wearing right now…and it says “Boss Mare”…..

I suppose that’s true…but on a farm…it’s important to establish who’s in charge…..

I’d like to point out…in addition to being boss mare…I’m also alpha bitch…but if you know me…you know that already applies…..

…..(someone’s gotta do it)…..

Pepper and Crimson are firmly ensconced here on our little farm already…..

I’ve got my Clydesdale mare (Pepper) and my younger daughter has her Clydesdale (Crimson)…..

It’s only right that my older daughter gets her own Clydesdale mare too…..

As Oprah might say…

Yesterday we drove down to Mary Constance’s farm and picked up Tyra to bring her home…..

She’s been down there for the last three months after she was purchased…with the purpose of receiving all of her necessary booster shots for botulism…prior to stepping foot on our farm…..

…..given our history… *****(When The Botulism Poisoned Our Horses)*****  …you can never be too careful…..

Tyra has already met Crimson and Pepper…while down at Mary Constance’s…so it was like an old reunion get together…..

It was a hot hot trip trailering Tyra back home…the weather here has been scorching…..

Tyra did well…but we hosed her down anyway after unloading her…just as a precaution…..

My daughters and I were taking bets on who would ultimately be alpha mare in our little herd…..

Earlier…Pepper was always bossing Crimson around…..

We have had to tie off Pepper on a post when they were eating their grain meals…..

…..because Pepper is a faster eater…who covets Crimson’s food…..

When she finishes…she moves directly to Crimson’s pan and eats her food as well…..

…..Miss Greedy Guts…..

And that’s why Pepper gets tied to a post…..

But now that Tyra’s here…things will probably be changing…..

There is a definite pecking order that occurs on a farm between animals….

It will be interesting to see how the herd politics shakes down…..

Watching what transpires will be my entertainment…..
