My most-favorite plants ever are poking their sweet, little, pastel, tender, tortuous, sprouty-heads above the ground again.

It’s that time of year……………….yippee!

Woot!  Woot!   ………………………………………….

I hate these hateful plants.

 

They are indelible and permeating and sprawling and hearty and absolutely everywhere.

And they are just plain mean.

They trick you with their fresh minty-like look, and then they bite/burn/singe/welt/& sting you…………..and the symptoms don’t go away quickly………….like the reference articles say they should.

They last for hours and days……

Aaauuuuuggggghhhhhhh!          

Ow!

They really hurt!

I still haven’t nailed down their real name.  There are so many versions.

Heart-leaf nettle;  weak nettle;  burning nettle;  dwarf nettle;  9-minute nettle (or was it 7-minute?)-(regardless———it lasts for days!); ortiguilla;  or fire weed.

Urtica Chamaedryoides————that’s the scientific name and/or label.

I’m ready to do battle with those buggers this year (again).

…………….possibly the battle begins tomorrow…

I’ve purchased a four-gallon, back-pack, pump-sprayer.

I’ve purchased a gallon of GrazonNext HL herbicide concentrate……………to start with…

I’m loaded for bear this year…

I’ve done my research.

I’ve invested in the appropriate equipment and apparatus.

Those rhizomes won’t know what hit them.

Little subterranean bad-things…

They are everywhere.

It’s the only plant that does well here.

I’m waiting for a wind-less day with no rain.

I’ll probably glow-in-the-dark after I’m finished———but I’m determined and dedicated and just a wee bit obsessive.

It’s a lousy job, but someone has to do it.
