More Baby Goats?

More Baby Goats?

I’m not sure how this happened…

Well, no………………I do know “how” this happened.

I did take Biology #101…

………………..but there have been welded metal horse panels between the does and the bucks for quite a while now……………?…………….

Horse panels have rectangular openings that are 2″ by 4″, and they are 5′ tall.

I would have thought that the welded metal panel apertures would have been adequately small enough to act as a chastity-belt of sorts to stop “that activity” from “happening”.

I mean, you know, the basic birds-and-the-bees-kind-of-happenings.

Keep the boys away from the girls and put a sturdy, tall fence in between them…………?…………..

Well……….we did that.

After the post-Hurricane-Irma-baby-goat-boom of 2017/2018…………we got our agro-selves in-gear and separated the genders……………or at least we thought we did.

Not One Of Our Babies—But It Looks A Lot Like One Of Our Oberhasli Babies.

No, I KNOW we did!!!

So how are we having dairy goat does kidding at this time of year???

Oops!……………..now three different does have kidded (even before I could post this blog entry!).

*********Again……I know “how” this happened…………….I just don’t understand “how” this happened…………..?

A LOT of the kids look like our Oberhasli buck, Professor Dillamond……….?………..

The goats aren’t saying……………..they’re just grinning.

It boggles the mind.
