I had another post planned for today…but Idalia moved into the neighborhood…..

Yep…by the time you’re reading this…Idalia…will have decided where she’s going…..

…..although I am writing this post ahead of time…Idalia…IS…OUT THERE…..

She WILL be doing Something…Somewhere…..

…..and she’s cranking away…and growing…..

I just heard…the Gulf water temperature (which she will soon be motoring over) is about 90F…..

…..”they” (the meteorologists) say the high Gulf water temperature is like rocket fuel for hurricanes…..

…..they feed on it and grow…..

…..(oh…goodie)…..

Well…at least…I can say that Idalia is a pretty name…..

We have one of our dairy goats named Irma…(because she was conceived during that hurricane when the buck got out)…maybe we’ll have an Idalia after this one too…..

…..remember the “spaghetti models”…and the “cone of influence”?…..

Right now…Idalia is projected to be a Category #3 by the time she makes landfall…(wherever that may be)…..

…..(personally…I think she’ll be stronger than that)…..

…..(she’s not going to get weaker…they never do)…..

But “that cone”…..

…..fifty miles to the West…..

…..fifty miles to the East…..

…..a world of difference…..

…..AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!…..

It’s all horrible…the suspense ahead of time…the fear…the anticipation…the preparation…the immediacy…the impact…the aftermath…..

Oh…and my multiple eye twitches are back…..

…..along with some seasonal IBS…TMI?…probably…..

So we prepare…and we watch…and we wait…..

…..she’s due to arrive at night…I hate when they hit in the dark…..

…..it just adds to the angst and hand-wringing and fear…..

But…it’s all up to Mother Nature…it’s her final decision…..

…..(we do need the rain)…(is that too much PollyAnna-Optimism and making too much unwanted lemonade?)…..

My Aunt Cory told me that in her area in Ohio…they just had a very damaging tornado…..

…..so my go-to…of moving back to Ohio-reliability…has it’s hiccups too…..

I think we’re prepared…I think we have everything we need…..

…..I think…..

…..of course…our tractor took this opportunity to decide to crap-out and over-heat…..

So…like I said at the beginning…..

…..by the time you read this…Idalia will have decided…..

…..I empathize and sympathize with whoever is in her sights…..

…..and later…in her aftermath…..

…..(the rains have started…and there’s rolling thunder in the distance)…..
