Wow…time is flying by…..

My daughter’s and I share shifts of sitting up with the puppies in the den…..

We’re almost at the stage where they leave their bins…and take up residence in wire cages…(also in the den)…..

Maybe we’re being overly protective…but you never know if a split second awareness might be just what a puppy needs to survive some stupid decision…..

………….(plus…I don’t trusts our house cats)………….

………….(remember the plotting cats in the original Walt Disney movie “Lady and the Tramp”?)…..

………….(cats are constantly scheming)………….

I love them…but you have to constantly read the room…in order to know what’s their next plan…..

But once the poopers are in wire kennels…with locked doors…and wire roofs (rooves?)…..

…..(Can you tell from my last straying off topic–just how sleep deprived I am?)…..

Where was I?…..

…..oh yeah…the puppies will soon be in wire kennels protected from the dastardly house cats…..

So once that happens…..

We can breath (and sleep) easier…..

We can all go back to our own beds…and sleep through a real night…because the puppies are on “solid” food…and safe…..

People have said that I’m over-reacting…..

…..maybe I am…until I’m not…..

I love my Irish Wolfhounds…but after decades of bringing them into this world…it can be a precarious adventure…..

…..and not always a guarantee…..

Once the hounds are adults…they are sturdy healthy dogs…but getting them to that point…can sometimes be touch and go…..

But they are on “solid” food now…so that’s the next step…..

And it’s always…one step at a time…..
