So I started counting roosters…..

…..I did start too late in the morning…they had mostly scattered by then…..

…..but…there are A LOT of them…..

I realized that the surplus of extra roosters can’t all be blamed on my newbie neighbors…..

I think I know where some of the extra boys came from…..

You see…over the summer…I was given a number of home-hatched Red-Laced Wyandotte chicks…by my friend…B.J…..

I’m slowly realizing the extra boys could have come from that box…..

…..lots of ittle-bittle baby chicks…..

Normally one would expect a fifty/fifty split between cockerels and pullets…..

I don’t think that was the case…in this situation…..

I’m thinking that the “split” may have been only one or two pullets out of a total of sixteen…..

…..my friend (B.J.)…may have “Gotten me”…..

…..normally…I’m the Gott’er…not the Gott’ee…..

…..I commend anybody with a good Got’cha…..

…..I think…I was recently “Got”…..

I don’t think B.J. knew ahead of time…..

I don’t think he realized there was a hugely/lop-sided amount of baby roosters in his Box O’Chicks…..

…..did he?…..

…..did he?…..

…..did he set me up for a resulting chorus of 3:45am/Cock-A-Doodle-Doo’ing?…..

Hmmmmmmm…..(?)…..

…..B.J. and I go way back…..

Hmmmmmmm………….(he did?)…..(?)…..

…..(Note to self:—would B.J. do a Rooster Got ‘cha on me?)…..

…..(Second note to self:—For Sure………….Yes………….Yes…he would)…..

…..my sage-suggestion as a result of all of this…..

…..Never Look a Gift Baby Chicken in the Mouth (beak?)…..

…..(another note to self:—count…collect…&…cage all those extra roosters)…..

…..(and don’t malign the newbie-neighbors too much)…..

I have no idea how many roosters are actually out there…..
