Goats In The Round Pen

Like I said…..the errant goats are now contained in the round pen…..

…..and we have a plan…..

My older daughter just bought a used aluminum two-horse trailer…..

It’s a gooseneck…..

Her truck has a gooseneck ball-hitch in its bed already…..

Where we need to take the goats would be too restrictive for my big trailer…..

….her’s will be speedy/nifty/& zippy…..

Easy in…..easy drop off…..easy out…..no blocking or stopping traffic…..(again)…..

…..easy peasy…..

I’d made the round pen as comfortable as possible for the goats…..

I’d secured a tarp/lean-to for them to be able to get out of the weather and the rain…..

…..but being the mischievous caprine that they are…..

…..they got to work right away…..and immediately dis-assembled my hard work…..

They bent down the fence posts…..they ate the zip-ties…..

…..they laid on top of the tarp…..(rather than walking under it)…..

…..so I scaled the round pen panels…..

…..went in AGAIN with the fence post thumper…..more zip ties…..hay bale string (always a necessary repair accessory)…..and a bad attitude…..

…..and…..

…..the very next day…..the dastardly goats had destroyed my hard work even more succinctly…..and were sunbathing on top of it AGAIN…..

…..so I scaled the round pen panels…..AGAIN…..with all of my fencing supplies…..

…..and …..

…..repaired it AGAIN…..

The Next Morning…..

…..ALL the goats were noisily demanding their meal…..again…..on top of the demolished tarp…..a slight rain was beginning…..

Their tarp was trampled…..torn…..partially eaten…..and thoroughly pooped on…..

My younger daughter and I dutifully watered and fed them…..

…..and walked away…..

…..right before a deluge of rain…..

My daughter and I were warm and dry and smiling inside the house…..

I try hard…..I work hard…..but you can’t fix stubborn/stupid/& caprine lack-of-foresight…..

…..you just can’t…..
