You might think goats are cute…..

A lot of people do…..

Some might think it’s relaxing to do yoga with them…(I still can’t wrap my head around that one)…..

When I was young…we raised sheep on our small Ohio farm…..

Sheep are cute…lambs are cuter…sheep are dumb as a box of rocks…..

Goats aren’t dumb…..

They all have a machiavellian evil twist to their personalities…..

…..don’t get me wrong…..

They aren’t intelligent survivors…not at all…they’ll put themselves in harms way in a heartbeat…..

…..but their “twist” is that they’ll regularly drag you along…and throw you over the precipice with them…..

My younger daughter just came back inside this morning…after taking her horse Anja out of her stall…..

…..she came through the kitchen door…totally irritated with Trooper…(our Saanen buck goat)…..

My daughter was incensed…(she and Trooper have an ongoing A.M. interaction)…almost every day…..

…..she was sputtering (and cursing under her breath)…(for being special needs…she’s quite eloquent)…..

Apparently she and Trooper had yet another altercation…..

My daughter was red-faced and blustering…my older daughter and I slowly revolved her around…to get a 360-degree idea of the damage…..

My youngest has been know to come in with hay in her hair (at best) and goat-hoof tread-marks up & down her body…..

………….goats are the worst………….

But today she was tread-mark-free…but it appears that she and Trooper “had words”(?)…..

…..(I really wonder which ones she chose…and if the neighbors heard)…..

…..(like mother…like daughter)…..

I guess…today was just a running sprint for the horse’s buckets…before Trooper could take her down…and raid the pail she was carrying…..

…..I figure…it’s a good morning aerobics routine…..

She didn’t have hoof marks across her tee shirt or face…so let’s mark that one down as a good day…..

Trooper has settled into his new home quite thoroughly…along with his role as Resident-Butt-Head…..

The caprine-girls are happy enough with him…..

…..my younger daughter?………….not so much…..

My advice to you…is to think twice…when you see that cute picture of a goat kid…..

You might think you could fit one into your life-style…..

…..think again…..

That Gateway Goat WILL grow up to be a Butt-Head…..

And…that’s a guarantee…..
