!!!!!!!*****First Hunt~~First Hunt~~First Hunt*****!!!!!!!

Get out of the way………….
…..old lady on a pony coming through………….
Lola and I made it to the first Hunt of the Season!!!!!
Tra! La!

Actually Lola dragged me…….
…..you don’t say no to Lola…!
HA! I just remembered the lyrics to that song!
…..whatever Lola wants…..Lola gets…
I’ll download some quick photos from the Hunt.

It wasn’t too hot at 6:30am…(69F)

It wasn’t too bad by 8:15am…
…but it was heating up fast…
It was sweaty hot when the Hunt finished at 9:30am.

And it was absolutely sizzling by the time we were unloading Poppy and Jezebel into their respective stalls.
Jezebel was good as gold throughout the Hunt……
…..she was drugged…

She glided through the entirety of the Hunt (in the front)-(she absolutely has to be in the front) on a fluffy, controlled, pink, happy cloud.
Poppy (for all of her diminutive-pony-ish-ness)…….needs a stronger bit.
She had NO BRAKES!
(I know I’m disappointing Mary Constance by that last statement…….she believes in my riding abilities more than I do)—(I’m sure she would want me to keep Poppy on a snaffle.)

But I had NO brakes…….
…..whatsoever…!!!…
Poppy & I almost gave Sapphire’s horse New Castle an impromptu, proctological exam on several occasions when there was a quick hold-hard.
***Explanation Of “Hold Hard”…..And Other Fox Hunting Terms***

It was a beautiful day.
It was a beautiful Hunt.
We were surrounded by great friends…great horses…great runs…great stories…
…….with the promise of a great Hunt Season to come…….

***Addendum—–Mary Constance just reminded me that brakes & safety ALWAYS come first.
She told me to toss the snaffle or wrap it with electric barbed-wire if necessary while Fox Hunting…….thank you Mary Constance, for always looking out for me……..here comes a Kimberwick…
Look out, Poppy…………………Whoa means Whoa!!!
