Addy appears to be “better”……….

……….but, Addy has never really acted sick.

 

She’s never even acted “off”.

Some of her blood work has been really bad though…

It was only during the first forty-eight hours at the beginning of this entire dilemma that she exhibited a couple red flags that put me on the alert originally.

And those appeared to resolve quickly.

But phew-ee, that bloodwork did stink.

 

We are still making her gulp down over thirty dissolved SMZ tablets daily along with ground-up, top-dressed (applied on top of her food) Ranitidine.

She saw through the masking with (imitation) maple syrup a while back……………

 

 

And that’s why my younger daughter and I just started to un-ceremoniously make her gargle and then swallow two 60 cc syringes of dissolved SMZ’s in water……………twice a day.

 

Not an easy feat.

None of us stays clean or happy…

 

 

There is slobber and SMZ-drool flying everywhere

 

 

She’s a very tall horse…

 

 

 

I have to stand on top of a hay bale…

 

 

 

 

 

And when she decides she doesn’t want someone reaching her muzzle———-she puts it sky high…

 

 

But Addy appears to be doing okay these days.

 

She’s eating.

She’s pooping.

She’s peeing.

 

 

You know———all of those key markers of life…

 

 

So let’s all break out in a happy dance…………………(?)

 

 

 

But there’s still a pit in my stomach…

And that bloodwork………………

We just got the fourth (4th) bloodwork back from the laboratory…

It’s better……………but it’s not great.

(She does still have the re-absorbing remains of an abscess on her neck from a combination of late-night/less-than-efficient injections while I had to give her Banamine injections 24/7 to break her fever…)

So many of your markers are either too high or too low.

But you seem fat, sassy, & happy…

 

A number of people would quickly say:  If it aint’ broke……….don’t fix it…

But that’s the question……………(?)
