Drooling On The Couch

Drooling On The Couch

Some Of Willow’s Babies~~~One Week Old

The babies are over one week old now…

There are still seven of the little boogers…

Willow’s First Litter~~~One Day Old

But, we’re still not out of the woods yet…

Fey’s lost litter last February is still too raw and recent.

*****Fey’s Final Litter*****

Fey~~~R.I.P.

(I’m a worry-wart…….I have good reason with Irish Wolfhound babies)

…..consequently, I am still sleeping on the couch, right by their RubberMaid bin, right next to Willow…

Willow’s Babies (Jasmine & Prince Charming)

The other night I woke up between feedings (keep in mind, there’s not much time between feedings) and Willow had her front legs on the couch on my stomach (and my bladder)…….looming over me…….

Some people might have been concerned…

But I know Willow…

Will O’ the Wisp

And I know Wolfhounds…

…..she just wanted to cuddle.

…..Oh!..@#$$%$#@!…NO!…..

…..early morning spooning with an Irish Wolfhound on a narrow couch is just not going to happen!!!

I’m glad the puppers can’t hear yet, because I’m sure I woke up the rest of the house with my bellowed—–NO WAY!!!!!!!

…..she’d steal my pillow and she’d steal my blanket…

…..she’d already elbowed me in the kidneys…..

But between Killian’s litter…with me sleeping on the couch…….

And now Willow’s litter…with me also on the couch…….

Backpack Sprayer

…..plus…….let’s not forget the multiple days of spraying the pastures with the heavy, commercial-gallonage/backpack sprayer of potentially-carcinogenic herbicide strapped to my back…….

…..then it’s not really surprising that now I have the !WORST! wry neck that I can remember in recent memory……..or maybe in forever!

…..now conversations or even eye-contact with anyone has to be carried out with my jaw touching my left shoulder…….

…..I can only back up the truck using the left wing mirror…….that is, unless I pivot on the seat so that my left shoulder is lined up with the truck’s right wing mirror…….

My Truck & Trailer

…..hmmmmmmmmmm…..maybe it’s a good thing that I’m not hauling horses anywhere right now…

But every night, I dutifully try to catch two hours of sleep between feedings which are still spaced at every three hours…..

My spasmed neck only lets me sleep on one side…….which makes my neck progressively sorer/stiffer with each passing night.

I’ve puddled a permanent drool mark on the couch where I regularly pass out for my nano-glimpse of sleep…….

…….it’s kind of like my own personal “Star” on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame…
