COVID-19 Virus…….And The Farm

COVID-19 Virus…….And The Farm

Life is a tap dance…

…..if you are lucky…..you can keep up with the tempo…

…..as this corona virus pandemic unfolds…..the dance steps keep changing…

…..we don’t know what tomorrow will bring…..we’re just taking one day at a time…

…..so many things in life are like a Twelve Step Program…

…..you can plan ahead as much as you want…..but you still have to take it one day at a time…….

…..which is where we are at…….

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m trying to plan ahead for some key needs on this farm…
Addy’s Medicine Lips
Addy needs to have her daily medicines continued…..if at all possible…….
…..I’m trying to get the adequate medications on hand so that routine can continue…….
Addy’s Medication
…..it may prove problematic…..but then again it may not…….
…..tomorrow I will be calling my veterinarian contact to see if I can purchase Addy’s med’s ahead of time…..in triplicate…….
…..I’m not sure I’ll be allowed to purchase that much at one time…….
Addy’s Daily Dose Routine
…..I’m hoping that will be possible, so that I can have enough on hand to last awhile…….
…..should driving become a difficulty…..and I would be limited to how much or where I can drive…….
Molly’s Fourteen Puppies
Next, I want to make sure I have adequate ingredients for the puppies’ formula…….
…..the eggs won’t be a problem…….
…..our hens (and ducks) are doing their part daily…
…..if I’m not able to buy yoghurt…..I can always make my own…..IF I can continue to buy milk…….
…..our goats won’t be kidding for another two months…….
The Girls
…..so freshly milked goat milk will have to wait for a little while yet…….
Karo syrup hasn’t been a problem to purchase in adequate amounts…..
…..but canned/evaporated milk has proven to be a little bit of an issue…..
However…..with a staff of people checking various Winn Dixie’s and Walmarts, we were able to amass enough canned milk to continue making puppy formula…….
Killian’s Recent Litter
…..at least until we can start the babies on puree’d puppy kibble…….
…..Our human family is fairly prepared to huddle at home and hopefully miss this barreling virus…….
…..my biggest concern has been for the animals and their feed and formula necessities…….
Evaporated Canned Milk…………..Maybe There’s Just A Little Bit Of Hoarding
    1. We are doing all right. The puppies are almost on “solid” food. That will be less worrisome when they are on gruel. How are you doing on your farm? I’m grateful that we are out in the country. Social distancing is so much easier with a pasture in between you and your neighbor.
