Copernicus is more raccoon than house cat.

He’s got Bengal spots, but he’s not a Bengal (that’s a domestic cat breed).

He’s a Puma breed that my friend is trying to get recognized by the CFA registry (Cat Fanciers Association).

I’m sure he’s more of a raccoon than a house cat…….

…..he loves bright-sparklies…

Bright-sparklies can be anything that appeal to his kitty-sense of fun-ness & curiosity.

…..he collects them, he hides them, he plays with them, he eats them…

………….we don’t need Roach-Motels…

What others look at as disgusting bugs, our cats look at as entertainment to be sought out for play, amusement, and snacks…

We refer to these huge, armored, half-track, clattering, entomological scuttlers as roaches…….but they have a unique cockroach category all their own…….they are called Palmetto Bugs…

…….special bugs that are an additional Florida treat.                                               oh, yippee!

Copernicus loves them…….they are his wiggly friends…….until they don’t wiggle anymore.

Copernicus takes things to the extreme and usually with a unique twist.

Recently I woke up in the middle of the night with the ceiling lights on in the bedroom…

I knew I’d been really tired, so I was sure I had just forgotten to turn them off…

I got out of bed and turned off the lights at the wall switch…

When I got settled back under the duvet…….the lights went on again…….(?)…….huh?

It was Copernicus…

He was sitting on the desk with his left paw (he’s a lefty) on the light’s toggle switch…….

He had that look…….which meant:             Game on, Toots!

But I have a heavy-duty water sprayer at the ready on my night stand…….just for times like this.

Even though it was the dead of night, I was still a quick draw…

I got him right in the ear from across the room…

He did the same thing one more time that night…….but fortunately he also turned it off just as quickly.

…….considerate (and damp) cat.

…….He and Prosecco have also learned how to turn the water on in the bath tub…….

…….I swear they have opposable thumbs…….
