Cleaning the Fireplace

Cleaning the Fireplace

*******Maybe This Link Will Get You To My Tick Tock Channel*******

I’ve officially given up on a roaring fire for the next few months…..

…..or more…..

It’s hard feeling in the mood for a roasty/toasty fire when it’s in the 90’s or above …..

Before cleaning out the ashes for the coming summer…..

…..I was able to eke in a couple small morning fires recently this last week…..

It actually got down to 58F degrees one night…..

(…note the overly-long piece of wood…I couldn’t get my chainsaw to start…)

…..my rule is…..

…..anything in the sixties is fair game for a fire…..

(another piece of over-sized wood)

I had been all set to play chimney-sweep…..

…..and then…..

(I Stirred Up A Lot Of Ash)…(And Then I Wonder Why My House Is So Dusty)…

…..there was a slight chill in the air…..

Soooooo…..poof…..I built another (little) fire…..

DaVinci  &  Prosecco

It makes it a tad less sweltering if you throw open the doors and windows…..

…..and then ignite the fire…..

I’m trying to figure out how I can do small/long-lasting/non-hot fires for the coming summer…..

…..I love the ambiance…..fires in the hearth are a love-pat to your psyche…..

I’m thinking about soaking kindling & pine cones in water…..

…..making them soggy…..

…..and then torching them…..?…..

I wonder if it will work…..

I have discovered that peppermint oil and/or eucalyptus oil helps to “deter” kitties from mistaking the cold ash around the andirons as impromptu litter boxes for them…..

You know what works better that essential oils…..?…..

…..hot ashes & embers…..

Just saying…..

I’ll know who the culprits are when they walk past and I smell singed hair…..

I can find humor from curious sources…..
