Canoodling In The Country

Dr. Stevie Wonder made a visit yesterday…
He gave us vaccinations for Addy, so that she’ll be well-boostered for her up-coming foaling…

We gave the big girl her annual botulism vaccination along with another Pneumabort-K (the name kind of explains the shot)…
…………………………………AND………………………………….
Dr. Wonder ultrasounded Claire to see if her co-mingling with Brave has left her in a family-way…….

…..and it has!!!!!!!
…..Tra! La!…..
Claire has a bun in the oven!
Brave………………………..you dog!

Claire is about fifty days pregnant…….
…..we still have a long way to go…….
…..keep your fingers and toes crossed…….
…..but with all of the overwhelming COVID-19 quarantining stress…….

…..a little bit of good, optimistic news is always welcome…….
I always ask Dr. Stevie Wonder if he can see if the foal is solid-colored or spotted…….or if it’s a boy or a girl…….

…..now…..he just ignores me…….
…..everyone appears to be guessing that Addy’s foal will be a stud colt and not a filly…….

…..my younger daughter and I are hoping for a filly…..solid or spotted…..we don’t care…….
But at the end of the day, we just want both mom and baby to be healthy…..without complications…….
Addy is due next month or June…….

Claire is due in December or January…..I haven’t really worked it out yet…..mares carry for eleven months…
This is the third mare that Brave has settled…
Bell was in late stage pregnancy with a spotted filly when she died the December before last…….

…….sigh…….

…….somethings just don’t get easier with time………………………………
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But for today…..there is good news!
We will cling to that…….yes, we will…
Brave, obviously, has perfected his own job description…….
…..and…..Hope Springs Eternal…
That is wonderful news. I can’t wait!! Fingers and toes crossed. ❤️
Claire has nice dappling to her coat and she has been holding a really good weight. Dr. Wonder is happy with her pregnancy. Fingers & toes crossed.
God bless your Mamas and future foals.
At least, I think that was the quote from “Gone With The Wind”.
