Annual Lobster Party
We did it again.
We pulled off another annual Hunt Club Lobster Party.
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 lbs lobsters abounded…….well, they really didn’t “abound” per se.
Bounding would have been difficult with those rubber-band-things on their claws.
But in the news, at the same time, was a rare occurrence in a lobster net in New England.
A bright blue lobster was caught.

*****Albino, Calico, & Blue Lobsters*****
Apparently it’s some sort of genetic defect, but a beautiful sapphire-blue lobster nonetheless.
However, all of our lobsters were the regular kind…….
…..and they cooked up real nice and tasty.
Side-dishes were brought, mounds of cookies were baked…
I took my boom-box with tunes…
…….and an open-bar flowed…………….
A good time was had by all.
Paolo and I shucked oysters at the beginning until the bushel was empty…….
……….all the predictable shucking jokes ensured…….repeated from last year…….but still funny…
***(note to self…bring a change of blue jeans next time, so you don’t smell like a dried/sun-baked shoal for the rest of the party)***
(a cuticle brush dipped in Clorox bleach would have helped too.)
A seasonally dramatic rain storm blew through, but we were already prepared with tents over the lobster cookers and steak grill……………..plus it left a beautifully huge rainbow for our entertainment afterwards.
Because our Clubhouse is at the foxhound kennels (which is in the middle of cattle country), this particular (double) rainbow was visible over the hillside from end to end.
Really beautiful………….Mother Nature’s artwork…
Speaking of art, a professor of mine from the University (now retired) has become a painter.
He had done a portrait of Brave as well as Fey for me. Plus I commissioned a portrait of a friend’s Hunt horse (as a surprise birthday present).
I showed all the paintings at the party, just in case anyone else would like a portrait of their favorite horse or dog.
I just wanted to promote a not-so-starving-artist…

Should I be looking for my lobster in the mail? FedEx, UPS? Ok, how about a cookie that I am not supposed to have?
