Addy’s CBC (complete blood count)

Well, that was clear as mud…
I wanted something that told me what was wrong with my horse.
Well, no…….not exactly……
I wanted something that told me what was wrong with my horse PLUS, it was super simple AND easy to fix.

…….that’s not what I got…….
If I can figure out how to copy & paste the actual report, I will………..but, don’t hold your breath…
(Yep—–true to form, I can’t figure out how to copy & paste the bloodwork report to this post………)
(At least some things in this world are reliably consistent…………….my inability to use computers is a reliable, universal constant)
The elevated creatine kinase indicates that Addy’s been (to coin an old horse expression) “rode hard and put up wet”…

Except she hasn’t been…
She (maybe) trots over to her food pan to eat twice a day…

**********(I want to start banging my head against a wall…)**********
***********Not productive……….but I want to.)***********

What is wrong with my horse?
Why can’t this be a simple fix………?
PSSM is a consideration……………………………..don’t even ask…
Paolo & I have had an experience with that years ago with another horse…………muscle biopsies (the size of chunks of stew meat), lab tests, phone conferences………..sigh………..)
Stevie Wonder told me to keep breathing………..
………..and not go off the rails………
………..I’m not super-securely attached to the rails these days……….

Dr. Wonder wants me to keep an eye on the big girl’s temperature and continue to keep it controlled with Banamine.
He reiterated that one blood test does not a diagnosis make———(glib *%$#&#@% veterinarian)……
He has not ruled out a simple virus yet.
Our plan is to do more bloodwork in a couple weeks and then compare………….plus, we (I) will keep monitoring Addy along the way…

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time for more than a bit of mediocre Bourbon…………….
It’s after noon almost…………………somewhere………
………….what do I care!?!
*****Addendum*****Addy’s elevated temperature “appears” to be coming down…

Sigh………………………….I’m going to celebrate with a shot…

Do you know a homeopathic vet?
I know a good one up in the Ocala area, but not down here.
