A Study Of Snouts

We’ve recently had an explosion of pigs…
We went from four (three sows & one boar) to a total of fourteen piggies over night (or so it seemed)…

And that’s with two of the adult females being sterile…(so it appears)…
The eleven current juveniles (from two separate litters) are all out of one sow…….

…..the wild Russian-esque piggy…
Maybe it’s just as well the two other sows aren’t fertile…
We would have had a huge pig extravaganza otherwise…
…..they might not be fertile…….
…..but they are plump…

…..hmmmmmmm…
In the mean time…..I’ve been studying their piggy noses…….

…..snouts are really quite curious facial features…
…..they are actually mesmerizing to watch…..(plus, I am easily amused)…

…..they are almost like opposable thumbs (but with boogers)…..
…..I’ve decided to make this a photographic journey…..

…..which I am now sharing with you…..
Piggellies enjoy doing all sorts of things…..under the surface of the mud…..

…..that’s their preference…
…..they do their best work…..eye-deep in mud…

Given that their sty is in the lower goat pasture…..their paddock really needs repairing…….

…..their roof-supports have rotted off…..most of their fence posts have done the same…….

…..and because their ground-level has increased systematically over the years (with their own/personal composting)…..now they are able to do the Fosbury Flop over the side-panels of their sty with porky-portly-ease…….
*****Explanation Of The Fosbury Flop*****
…..this is never a good thing…..
…..and…..in fact…..quite scary…..

…..Paolo is supposed to be organizing the butcher of the two/adult/non-reproducing sows…..
…..we are all waiting with abated breath…..

*******From what I’ve heard…..everything is useable on a pig…..except the oink*******

You should call your place, Fertility Farms. Do we know who the pig daddy is? Any chance that boar out in the woods, snuck in with a ladder, climbed over the fence, and seduced your poor, innocent piggie?
Daddy boar is a light tan (domestic cross)…..a bit Duroc-like. Mommy sow is all black and scary looking…..the babies are black or black & white (a bit Hampshire looking).
