It’s that time of year again…..

We’re going low-key this year…..

…..no loud music…..no fireworks…..there might be S’Mores and marshmallows…..maybe…..

There will be a bonfire…..

There will be languid revelry…..(if that’s a thing)…..

A fun/casual evening is planned…..

It will be family…..neighbors might come ’round…..hopefully there will be friends…..

…..it’s an open door…..(or front gate)…..kind of a bonfire…..

…..proffered bags of marshmallows are welcomed…..

Hogmanay will follow for New Year’s Day…..

…..I find that bonfires are therapeutic…..they’re relaxing…..they don’t require a lot of organization…..

…..they inherently tidy up our yard…..while warming our cockles…..(?)…..

Regardless…..you don’t have to talk me into a bonfire…..for any occasion…..

…..a bonfire with friends and family…..even better…..

…..in the comfort of my well-broken-in over-alls…..and a comfy chair…..

…..perfect…..

I could drag out the boombox…..for musical ambience…..

…..maybe some popcorn…..

…..and…..that’ll do just fine…..
