I’m a bit rough on wedding bands………………….

Or maybe it’s just because I’ve been married for a very long time…………………

I guess both are true.

My hands get smashed regularly.
Rope burns from lead ropes and/or chains are not uncommon.

I have yet another major puncture wound in my left palm from a fall onto a welded metal panel next to the pig sty…

WHY are all of my severe hand gashes in and around the pig sty!?!
And to make it worse I needed to shuck a bunch of oysters at the Lobster Party right afterwards…….

But Paolo to the rescue——-he brought a surgical glove for me to put on under my left-hand’s shucking-glove……………..

……….my hand appears to be healing, but with no help from the pig poo or the dregs from the bottom of the North Atlantic sea.

My first wedding band was at a jewelers for repair………….but surprise, the company went quickly out of business and I could never get my ring back………….

My second wedding ring got smashed here on the farm, along with my hand.

My hand healed…….
…….my ring wasn’t so lucky…
I have really good feelings about my third wedding ring.

Paolo and I were married in 1977………….and yes, it was “that” long ago…………..remember the polyester-era?…….photos on Qiana dress shirts?…….snags on trousers?…….platform clogs?…….*****A Walk Down 1970’s Lane*****
I discovered this wonderful artisan just up the road here in Florida……….he makes rings out of coins……….any coin.
I chose a 1977 U.S. quarter.
This nice man also did a ring for me out of a British 5 pence piece from the same year.
I don’t have pretty hands…………but they work hard.

I’ve stacked both rings on my hand.
They’re sturdy…………..I have a good feeling about these guys.
I think they’ll last.
Third times the charm.

~~~(I would have included a photo of my hand with the rings on…………but knobbly/wrinkled knuckles and oil-stained hangnails didn’t really do them justice)
Your post reminded me of my mom…she wore her wedding ring the day she got married, and the next day she told my dad “I don’t wear jewelry.” She took the ring off, and never put it on again. When I was getting married she told my wife “You could have my ring, but I don’t have any idea where it is!” Crazy, independent Joyce…and apathetic, secure Tony. A good combo…
Yep, that was them! I love it.
